"Person in charge has no compassion for visitors"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

When your loved ones go into hospital it is a very worrying time for both them and the person left at home. Tonight I drove in the rain down the motor way from Blackpool to Preston Hospital. I got there early as it is impossible to park most times and went and sat in the hospital cafe till 6.30 visiting time on the ward. I went by the hospital clock and made my way to ward b2 I arrived at the ward and went to my partners bed and sat down. A nurse came into the bay and said The person in charge said I would have to go and stand outside the ward because I was one minute early, yes one whole minute but was told if I walked to the door could come back in. I know they have to have rules but really is this not taking I'm in charge a bit too far.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

We will share your constructive comments with the ward manager for that area and would ask you to contact our PALS department on 01772 522972 if you would like to discuss this in more detail.
