"Mother's stay on Cardiac ward at Glenfield"

About: Glenfield Hospital

My Mother had an bad experience on this ward and the quality of care was poor.

My 90 year old mother pressed the call bell with no-one coming resulting in her having to toilet in her bed which really upset her. The staff then did not clean her up properly putting her soiled nightie in the bed side cabinet for me to take home and wash without telling me.

The ward had no idea how to handle older people and had no slide sheets and also only got a pressure relieving mattress at my request.

It is a sad tale when you have to fight for your relatives care because the hospital staff do not seemingly when it counts and that is when they had my mother in their care on this ward.

Dear reviewer,

We are really sorry to hear about your mother’s experience on one of our cardiology wards at Glenfield. This does not reflect the high level of care we expect our patients to receive and we would like to look into your concerns so we can improve our service for future patients. If you are happy for us to do so, please send your mother’s details (name, address, date of birth and hospital number) to me - sheila.verity@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and I’ll investigate.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. Your feedback is important to us.

Kind regards,

Sheila Verity
