"The junior trainee nurses were ..."

About: Royal Free Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The junior trainee nurses were cheerful kind and very helpful

What could be improved

The attitude of the staff nurses and some of the sisters to one having elective surgery was appalling and at times extremely rude

Anything else?

when told that you are discharged and given time for relatives to collect, the sisters shoud not put undue pressure on a post operative patient to leave before the arranged time nor should they place such patients in position where they have to carry their cases etc which puts the post operative patient at risk. Whilst everyone is aware of the need for free beds, no patient should be made to wait by the lifts or in a corridor after discharge for family or escort home.

All nurses should treat patients with respect and politeness. Some attitudes of certain nurses can be construed as discriminatory. Every patient admitted deserves to be heard and also treated fairly (regardless of ethnicity) withan awareness that medications can affect said patients response time and coherency
