"My autistic sons first visit to adult hospital"

Kierran is 19 and autistic ...he had to attend the virtual fracture clinic as he has broken his foot I would like to praise this department they listened to all my concerns over the phone and the receptionist was extremely friendly and then we spoke to a particular person who was simply amazing they put everything in place to assure Kierrans visit was positive stress free and productive ,I really can't thank them enough as he was very stressed but when we left and even during his time there he remained quite calm .i felt I was listened to as his mum n main career and felt that they did everything perfect to make this experience a positive one ,it would be lovely if this type of individual care could roll out to all the departments in your hospital as its scary enough coming to hospital but when you have autism every day and everything that's outside of your day to day routine is scary ...thankyou so much and well done to that particular member of staff and the virtual fracture clinic for getting it so right ...June
