I came to the hospital on the 29th March for an outpatient appointment.
I had a scan on Mirlees ward - the clinician was so lovely and put me at my ease - they were gentle, compassionate and I was treated with the utmost dignity.
Afterwards I went to see the team for an endometrial biopsy.
Again what wonderful dedicated and compassionate staff. Considering what I was having done, they were gentle, we had a few laughs along the way and what was a scary experience was handled in the most empathetic manner and I have come away feeling very positive so if I had to have it done again - I would not be so scared as the team were just fab!!.
Everyone got hugs from me to say thank you!! (I am a hugger!!!) and I hope that these very special teams will get some recognition from their line managers for their dedication compassion and gentleness in their patient care.
Over the last year I have been treated for breast cancer (Surgery/Chemo/Radio/Herceptin/Tamoxifen) and as someone who is soooo scared of hospitals!!! -
I can honestly say that all the staff that I have encountered have been so wonderful.
BIG BIG Thank you!!!
Kind regards,
Lee Melbourne
