"Lost referral"

I got a referral from GP for the podiatrist at Townley Road and duly brought the letter over to the clinic. I was told to wait 2-3 weeks to get an appointment. When I called back after 4 weeks, I was told it could take 5 weeks. I now rang back after 6 1/2 weeks and was told to call Guys. Guys, of course, had no record of me whatsoever. So now it is back to square one. Quite an archaic system: in the age of the internet, I have to physically bring the letter to the clinic and it is then sent from there to Guys to make an appointment at Townley Road. Of course, that is probably an NHS-issue, rather than purely a Townley Road Clinic issue.
