"rubbish visit to A & E"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

Visited A & E as GP referal for finger injury. So many staff that appear to be more interested in walking around with pieces of paper or standing near the Xray room eating chocolates ( which might contain nuts. Not good as some people allergic !)

Not once did I see any member of staff wash hands , use gel inbetween patients. One staff member went to 2 patients with same gloves on and one was vomiting.

The Doctor who see me clearly did not read my addmission notes as did not have a clue why I was there and even tried to send me for a second xray as was sure I had not had one when they were the staff member the xray form was given too.

injury was an open wound. I had to tell the doctor it needed a few sterisrips to secure it closed, ended up putting them on myself as they couldnt do them wearing gloves. Then said I could go. I then had too ask for a dressing to cover the wound. And yet again had to do myself as they couldnt do it with gloves on.

Its worrying to think thease are the staff that deal with very sick people, but arnt capeable of dealing with a finger injury!

Visited Hull Royal Infirmary recently and they really could teach MK a few lessons in patient care. Also Hull is spotless compared to grubby MKUH!
