Easter Bank Holiday, the dreaded 4 days of closed doctors surgeries. Our daughter became unwell with a blocked ear, visited the minor injuries unit at Sevenoaks hospital, we were seen quickly and everyone was friendly however they were unable to prescribe any medication for her diagnosed ear infection, upon leaving the minor injuries unit our daughter vommited on the way to the pharmacy to pick up something to ease her pain until we were able to make a doctors appointment on Tuesday. Unfortunately during the trip to the pharmacy she continued to vomit and became confused so we made the decision to call the emergency doctors phone line, call answered within 5 minutes and after speaking to the assistance we then received a call from Sevenoaks hospital emergency doctors service within 2 minutes giving us an appointment within the hour, however during our wait our daughter fell unconscious in the car so we dashed to the hospital half an hour early, we were met by an incredibly well trained member of staff manning the desk who sprang into action to ensure our daughter came back around and the doctor saw her immediately, giving her a thorough check up, diagnosis and prescription.
After her first dose of meds, 4 hours sleeping on the sofa, she is already showing signs of improvement.
Huge thanks to the staff working on the Emergency Doctor service today at Sevenoaks Hospital (28/03/16), what a remarkably well organised service, quick appointment and superbly trained staff. This service is priceless and has given us peace of mind that our daughter is on the mend during this time when making a local doctors appointment is not possible.
Thank you so much once again, superb staff, super service.
