"Breast Operation"

About: King George Hospital

I had to have a double mastectomy in February and I received nothing but the best of care from surgeon to nurses helpers.

Everyone gave me their full care and attention and responded very quickly to my needs.

My only problem, as with other patients, was the quality of the food.

I wish it were possible for the hospital to really improve on the sandwiches which had bread almost of a cardboard texture and very poor filling (hardly able to taste it).

I didn't have a full meal because my appetite was not good but could see how much was being left over - a real shame as good food would really help with recovery, however the length of stay.

All in all though, I would have no hesitation in recommending King George Hospital and I am sure that will continue when I start my chemotherapy within the next week.

Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your experience and for providing us with your feedback, it is wonderful to hear that the staff you encountered treated you well and were caring towards you. I will ensure that your comments are passed onto them.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the food we provide to our patients, in particular the sandwiches. I will make sure that this is passed on to the Catering Team.

Thank you once again for taking the time to make us aware of your experience.

Yours Sincerely

Kathryn Halford

Chief Nurse
