"My Grandfather was an inpatient ..."

About: Whiston Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My Grandfather was an inpatient on Ward G2 follwing orthopedic surgery. The care he recieved was first class. Due to the nature of his problem, my Grandfather required many weeks of intravenus treatment( he has had to have this before in previous hospitals). I was amazed by that the hospital has a specialised intravenus team, who were able to put a long lasting iv line into my grandfather to enable him to have the treatment he required, this prevented him from having to put up with having lots of 'vanflon' type lines in ( which don't seem to last very long). The intravenus team explained the need for the type of iv line to my grandfather and myself and answered our questions, and they were able to put the iv live in that day. During his stay the intravenus team visited him on many occasions to ensure that there were no problems with his intravenus line, this was reassuring to all the family as the last thing we wanted was for any problems. Grandfather was discharged from hospital after the intravenus treatment had worked and is making a great recovery thanks to the dedication of the intravenus team and all of the staff on ward G2... What a credit to the hospital you all are.
