"My father was transferred from ..."

About: West Cumberland Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My father was transferred from Furness General in Barrow to West Cumberland as it was the only ICU bed available following a major heart attack. Dad has been on the ICU for nearly three weeks, most of this time spent on a ventilator. I can honestly say that the standard of nursing care has been awesome, they are knowledgeable, dedicated and incredibly caring both towards Dad and us. As a nurse myself I cannot speak highly enough of the care that we have all received. It's just a pity that we have to travel 3 hours a day to visit him due to a lack of beds in Barrow!

What could be improved

Nothing
