The two paramedics who came to my rescue were fantastic. My husband, who is my carer, was in no fit state to look after me, I needed help as I am disabled and wheelchair bound. The paramedics, Tim and Jason, looked after both my husband and me. They found a card on my husband which explained that he was my carer and if anything happened to him I would need to be looked after by someone else.
Because my husband was in such a poor state they thought it best to take him to hospital to make sure he received a thorough check, particularly as he was groaning as if in pain. As this would leave me on my own and vulnerable Tim and Jason got in touch with the social services, organised carers who would be able to come and see me whilst my husband was in hospital, arranged meals to be delivered.
It was good that we had the carer’s card which enabled the paramedics to set everything else in motion.
