"Appointments Chaos - Hopeless Organisation"

After radiotherapy at St James, Leeds, appointment to be made to see consultant within 4-6 weeks afterwards at Pinderfields Hospital.

On the very same day, received a letter from Pinderfields for appointment on 24th March and another from St James for the 24th March with different doctors. Phoned Pinderfields to resolve and agreed to have them cancel the St James appointment.

This they did and I was removed from St James system completely.

Several days later received a letter telling me appointment now cancelled at Pinderfields and moved back.

Then received another telling me the new appointment was completely cancelled and no other could be made.

Contacted Pinderfields who said they had not cancelled with St James, i.e. that I was telling lies.

Spoke with the consultant's secretary at St James who said they remembered the supervisor at Pinderfields calling and cancelling me from the system.

Speaking again with Pinderfields now armed with this evidence, the supervisor denied it.

Unbelievable.

They then said I could have an appointment for the same time on the same date which the letter had just cancelled.

Is this for real?

So I declined and the secretary at St James reinstated me on the system and appointment made to see the original consultant in early April.

Have now received another letter this time from St James telling me I cannot have the appointment in April.

It has been moved back to mid May.

After treatment I was to be seen within 4-6 weeks.

If I am seen in mid May then it will be 14 weeks.

The NHS does not care one bit about patients and you would think that follow up appointments for cancer patients would be fairly important.

In my case it has been the opposite.

This is management at its worst.

Dreadful and unacceptable service.

You should be ashamed of yourselves.
