"My week in B6 surgical ward"

About: Bassetlaw Hospital

I had a car accident in which I fractured my breast bone and had to be hospitalised for 7 days until I could regulate my own breathing and take in enough oxygen. I started in A&E and was moved to B6.

I cannot describe my stay as a pleasure but I was treated at all times with kindness, consideration and professionalism by all who came in contact with me. I was especially impressed with the common sense of the ancilliary staff. They didn't just 'go by the book' but made extra effort to make patients comfortable ... such as providing a picnic lunch for a patient with an appointment at Weston Park Sheffield who would have missed luch time at both hospitals.

As a patient It was noticeable that the morale and good humour of the staff towards each other as well made for a very caring ambience. The checks and regular observations made me feel well cared for and all my questions were answered properly. I cannot praise all the staff enough. Thank You all very much
