"forth valley royal hospital maternity services"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit

(as a relative),

My Daughter was admitted for induction of labour via the triage service due to reduced foetal movements.

Every midwife we had the pleasure of dealing with delivered high quality care and gave reassurance at every step of the pregnancy.

The team in the labour suite were second to none and we can, t thank them enough for ensuring the safe delivery of baby J.

It was very special to have a midwife present at the delivery who had delivered one of own my children.

The staff members I would like to thank personally are Sister Lorraine in Triage and Midwifes Debbie and Ailene who delivered J and Margaret Anne who was night shift and gave fantastic support and advice but was off duty before J was born - A real credit to the profession.

I feel it is very important to share good news stories to staff who are dedicated to their jobs and treat patients with respect and dignity and for that I can't thank you all enough.

Response from Gail Bell, Deputy Head of Midwifery, Women and Children, NHS Forth Valley

Congratulations on the birth of your grandchild. What a truly wonderful time for you! I hope mum and baby J are doing well.

I agree it is really great to share good news stories and your feedback is fantastic. As a manager it makes me really proud to read your comments and a privilege to feed them back to the team. It is good to know that the team were able to reassure your daughter when she was anxious and give her the support needed.

I am sure the midwife who was at your own delivery and your daughters' must be feeling very proud (and maybe a bit old too as she is in to another generation!!)

All staff mentioned have been given a copy of your posting and they have asked me to thank you for your comments. They are all very proud as well as humbled by your praise.

Please give my best wishes to mum,dad and baby J. (apologies but I am unsure if baby J is a wee girl or wee boy!) I also hope that you thoroughly enjoy your new role of “grandma” and take great pleasure in spoiling baby J!

With best wishes to all.
