"Excellent care for my mum"

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / General Medicine (Lomond Ward)

(as a relative),

I am writing this on behalf of my mum who was recently admitted to the Vale of Leven Hospital due to her speech and mobility being very bad due to her having an Unknown neurological illness (that the team will not look into).

I would just like to thank the staff on her behalf of the Minor Assessment Unit at the Vale of Leven hospital who went out there way to make my mother feel at ease and less stressed until she was admitted to ward 3 AMU to which the staff went out there way to deal with my mother concerns I could not and neither could herself thank the staff from the bottom of our hearts for the care given while my mum was a patient at this hospital.

I would also like to thank the Paramedics too from the Vale of Leven Depot who dealt with my mum in the most excellent and understanding care and they should all be praised for there care given

I work in a small team within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Part of the team’s role is to support patients and carers through our feedback systems which will help to improve the services we provide. On Patient Opinion, I support Lorna Gray, Patient Experience Public Involvement Project Manager, and Niall McGrogan, Head of Patient Experience Public Involvement.

Dear waterloo

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I am pleased to hear that despite your mum being admitted to the Vale of Leven Hospital, she was able to feel better and less stressed by the way that our staff cared for her and clearly communicated so well with your mum. I will pass both your mum's and your thanks on to the staff.

I would like to pick up on your comment about the team not looking into your mum's unknown neurological illness. I would encourage your mum to speak again with her consultant/GP. Even if there is a reason for them not looking into your mum's symptoms further then this should be explained fully. Your mum also has the right to a second opinion, which she can also discuss with her GP, should she feel she is not getting the information needed.

I hope your mum is now recovering well.

Best wishes

Lisa
