"vascular ward 110 fantastic a credit to ward..."

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

Let me start by saying that the ward sister on this ward is doing a fantastic job and the management from Royal Stoke should have all ward sisters trained by them.

My mum has many health problems which are very serious. She was admitted to the Royal Stoke a few weeks ago and ended up eventually (another story) on 110. The staff of this ward were amazing not only to mum but to us. They listened which and acted accordingly with the information about mums sight and hearing. (lets not talk about short stay, I thought mum was deaf but nothing like the staff on short stay).

The ward is run second to none everyone looks like they enough their jobs and actually care about the patients. They sat with mum when she cried they held her hand and comforted her in the early hours. They made her drinks when she needed one but mostly they just looked after her. The Vascular consultant had the most wonderful bedside manner and took on board that mum struggles to understand as she can't see well as well as being deaf. The consultant was great.

Even in clinic last week when the consultant was two hours behind because the reg was on study leave and not bothered to tell them, the consultant still didn't let it affect how they treated mum. The consultant still gave us time and their patience.

If you ever end up on ward 110 be very very grateful you will be in good hands.

The food is still diabolical but its out sourced but the sandwich bar is an added bonus in the old part of the building.

Thank you if only we could guarantee always going to this sisters ward with their fabulous staff and great consultant the patients would get better and thus save the NHS money.
