I went in Thursday 17th March for an Abdominal Hysterectomy.
The op was on time, I had all the pre op checks and discussions so my mind was at ease about everything.
I was back on the ward by 7.45pm but was do tired I just wanted to sleep.
The next morning at about 7.30am I decided I was getting up and having a wash and so asked the nurses to remove any drips or catheter.
Then I walked around the ward a little, taking care not to go too far.
This was followed by a light breakfast, I then decided to walk some more, managed to o to the loo without problem, and because I made the effort when the time came I was told I had made a great recovery and could go home that same day, as I would continue to recover at home probably a lot faster.
The surgeon did an excellent job, the nurses were all very helpful, polite, nothing was to difficult to do.
I'm not sure if my results are normal or if I was just determined to get better quickly.
I have been home for exactly one week today, and of course my body is still healing, and will take a time, my appetite is realty good which helps.
Don't be afraid if you have the same op, just have a positive attitude, and be very determined.
