"They do not listen to you"

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary

Went in for a very painful "sore throat", breathing problems and flu symptoms in general.

The nurse told me that since I didn't have a temperature at that moment I didn't have the flu.

They insinuated it was all in my head, that i was exaggerating how I felt, saying "it's just a sore throat"

I was in tears, begging for help because I hadn't eaten in 2 days as even swallowing water was so painful. They just sat there staring at me as if I were crazy. They acted like a robot instead of a person that studied medicine to help others. I also explained that I didn't have a temperature cause I had just taken paracetamol (they could have just told me to wait and measure it later). At some point they said "it looks like you're trying to make yourself feel worse to get medicines". I was so mad, hopeless, frustrated and desperate. I then waited for 3 hours with a 38,5 C fever (fainting and vomiting in the meantime) to be visited by the hospital GP who diagnosed me with a severe throat infection... and flu! They also gave me the antibiotics they didn't want to prescribe me (which I didn't even ask for in the first place). Thank you to that angel doctor!

The nhs in general is really bad, besides few people. They hear you, but they don't listen to you. They treat you as if you were just a disease, a number on their budget. Well, we are human beings. So so disappointed.
