"Weekends terrible"

Gave birth at the weekend, and there seemed to be a shortage of staff. I had to repeatedly ask for paracetamol which the midwife kept forgetting to bring. When staff changed over they seemed to forget to pass on specific information about me, like forgetting i was on blood pressure tablets and forgetting to give me my dose.

I later found out when i visited my GP that they hadn't even put in my records what medication they put me on.

Some midwives were friendly but over worked, others completely elusive esp on the night shift. Repeatedly asked for help with breastfeeding as i was struggling and in pain and none would help me, one came over and tried to force my baby's head to my breast which made him scream and cry, they just walked off and didn't even say a word to me or help. I tried asking another midwife in the morning, and when i explained i was in pain from breastfeeding, they simply asked me if i had nipple cream which i replied no, and then they just walked off and I never saw them again. No compassion or real care from people whose job it is to care. And the food was terrible, and there was no fruit available, then they have the nerve to talk to you about a healthy diet after birth, when the hospital can't provide a nutritious meal themselves. I hope my next baby either won't be born at the weekend or is born at another hospital.
