"Retrain your staff"

My son unfortunately had to stay in your hospital in February this year, on arrival to A&E he was dealt with very quickly, unfortunately some of your staff could do with remembering to wash their hands in between each patient and put gloves on when they put a cannula in and take bloods, the nurse which did this had my son's blood on their fingers!!!!

He was then transferred to MAU, he was given a bed after waiting 4 hours for one.

The following evening my son was told that he would need a Lumbar puncher, on the 6th go of trying they did do it but it took them 80 min to do it, my son was asked to lean over a table and I was asked to hold the table so it didn't move !!!!

While they we setting the trolley up for my son's procedure I noticed that the HCA was touching the sterile field when they were opening the equipment for the Dr, the nurse then informed me that "it's a good job I know what I am doing because I used to work in a vets "

My son was then transferred to Ward 410 1 hour after his procedure, when myself and his dad arrived the following morning I asked if anyone had a looked at his back and he said NO, no one had asked him about it.

I work in a theatre myself and I know how important it is to wear your PPE, and check on your patients but you can only do this if you are given a proper handover about that patient which unfortunately I don't think some of staff are doing, and I think they also need updating on infection control .
