I had my knee operation here a year and half ago. Right from the start to the end of my stay of one day, I was treated like a piece of meat.
I arrived and was allocated a room where I was told to get undressed into a hospital gown. Once my family left, I was totally ignored until I was told by staff to lie down. They talked over my head ignoring me entirely and wheeled me into the anaesthetic room where I was left alone. No one comforted or talked me through anything even though I asked questions. Aftercare was appalling, the nurse in charge ignored my pain, did get their checks in silence, had a fight with another nurse who came on duty and wouldn't let me use a wheelchair to the reception area because I had one key out of action. The nurse talked over my head to my husband when he arrived and behaved very differently. My hospital notes for post care we're given to him rather than me. It was appalling all the way through. Please don't use the hospital because you will encounter terrible treatment at the hands of cold staff. It has taken me ages to get over this experience to write this review and I only doing so to help other people. I hate to think of anyone else going through what I did. My mother in law who is a retired doctor said she would not go back to the spire as she had a similar terrible experience too.
"Do not have your treatment here, staff are cold..."
