patients and visitors should all be spoken to with respect and dignity, in any position of care there is a responsibily to conduct yourself in a certain manner not abuse your position, there are many fantastic staff but the few who feel they can speak to people how ever they want destroy the reputation of not only the staff but also of the profession of care.
