"I am grateful they looked after my son"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

Wishaw Hospital gets a lot of bad press but we forget there are outstanding people who work there and care about the patients. My son broke his arm and was in a lot of pain. The staff in general were very kind to him but two went way above expectations to make his time in A&E as comfortable as possible. He was seen by A&E doctor Ruba and radiographer Ashley. Both ladies were incredibly patient with a frightened young boy who was struggling to hold it together. There was no pressure, endless patience and sincere kindness in how they looked after him. These ladies are a credit to the health service and I am genuinely grateful they took care of my son. Thank you.

Dear Mrs Ems,

I am sorry to hear that your son sustained a fractured arm resulting in him attending the Emergency Department.

It was very kind of you to post your positive experience and in particular the care provided by Ruba the Dr in ED and Ashleigh the Radiographer.

I will ensure that they are informed of your kind words and will also share this with the ED team. They will be delighted to read this.

I hope your son is making a good recovery and his pain is under control.

Best Wishes

Andy
