My daughter who is 25 weeks pregnant with her first baby , was violently ill whilst on holiday in Longleat Center Parcs. She was up all night with stomach pains , being sick and diarrhoea . Being 200 miles from home we dialled 111 who were really helpful and took details and said to phone back if the symptoms had not eased . They hadn't so we rung again . They advised us to go to Frome Community hospital asap .on arrival there my daughter 25 weeks pregnant and very distressed was spoken to like a piece of dirt by the first person she spoke to . She was told that she shouldn't have come to the hospital with her symptoms .
On telling the person on reception that she had dialled 111 and they told her to come to Frome hospital , my daughter was advised that 111 were a waste of space and didn't know what they were doing . Eventually my daughter was checked out by a nurse and was reassured .
May I suggest
A) Frome hospital liaises with 111 and get their act together
B) some refresher courses in bedside manner and customer care
C) Never speak to a distressed 25 week pregnant girl in that disgusting manner again
"Unpleasant experience"
