"In intensive care at Christmas & new year"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / General Medicine (Wards 5 & 8)

(as the patient),

I was admitted to ECU on Christmas Eve with pumonia was getting home Christmas Day but I crashed at 6 am the same happened on Boxing Day I was now in high dependency but got moved to intensive care later that night & was put on life support for nearly two weeks. The care I received was amazing and still is. I was so scared, nervous and unhappy when I came off life support the staff were great especially my critical liaison nurse Yvonne she helped me overcome a lot of the horrible emotions that were in my head.

Dear Paddy Dunn,

I am sorry to hear that you were so unwell and also which must have been a very frightening experience for you.

I am pleased to read your posting of your care experience being '' amazing '' and that the support from the Critical Care liaison Nurse helpful following your illness.

I will ensure the staff of ECU,, MHDU, ACCU and Critical Care Liaison are informed of your very kind comments.

I do hope this finds you well and continuing to make an improvement.

Best Wishes

Andy
