Attended with my mam who was physically and mentally unwell and had reached crisis point. Greeted pleasantly by reception staff and seen promptly by a very understanding and caring triage nurse...so far so good. Seen quickly after by a GP who unfortunately did not give us the time of day. After ruling out suicidal thoughts we were coldly and boldly told that urgent care is for emergencies and does not deal with symptoms or situations related to long term conditions and despite our state of crisis on a Sunday afternoon we should go home and call the GP tomorrow morning. No physical examination, no real assessment, and as a result my mam has had to leave her own home and stay at my home until we can recieve the proper care she needs from somewhere other than the unhelpful and uncaring urgent care centre. We will not be returning here again.
