"Cancelled appointment at Stepping hill MRI scan"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

(as the patient),

I have several medical problems and I am registered as disabled, I was given an appointment to attend for an mri scan in mid march at stepping hill at 2.15 pm. I had my hopes up that a scan might explain the symptoms I have been suffering from. I confirmed my appointment over the phone, and made transport arrangements for the scan.

To my disgust 5 minutes before I was going to leave the house, the department rang and cancelled my appointment as they were having a new scanner fitted in a near by building! they said my scan was cancelled as the work ( that they had known about for several weeks) might raise health and safety issues with my scan.

what a disorganised mess. and to cap it all, I then got a patronising lecture on how hard appointments were to get, and booking me a replacement slot would be hard!
