"My time at the Midwife Led Birth ..."

About: The Whittington Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

My time at the Midwife Led Birth Centre last week was excellent and better than I expected.. I was worried, naturally, and the birth was hard work, painful and emotional but the birthing pool worked very well for me and the midwives were superb - kind, patient, supportive and I felt really cared for. I think I had the best experience possible and I thank them all wholeheartedly.

What could be improved

Parking on site overnight cost an eye watering 32 pounds..really can't see why this is justified (for any vistors, let alone birthing mothers) and presumably it's a general hospital policy/money raising initiative....feels most unreasonable. Should be a long stay fixed fee option.

Response from The Whittington Hospital

Thank you for your feedback. Apologies that this was not responded to before, however the PALS and Complaints Department have only recently taken on responding to NHS Choices feedback.

I am so pleased you had a positive experience at the hospital and appreciate you taking the time to write a comment about it. The parking costs are regularly being reviewed and hope that going forward we can ensure that the very limited parking is offered at a reasonable cost.
