"Retford Central Children Centre"

About: Retford Central Children's Centre

(as a parent/guardian),

Moved to the area not knowing anyone and was at a bit of a loose end as my newborn was not sleeping at night and didn't know where to turn, I went into the Retford central sure start and spoke to a support worker called Emily, she signed me up for the family support scheme and began coming to see me at home, she got myself and my daughter involved in groups to help us socialise and meet other mums. We go to groups now and have started a baby massage course which we have enjoyed. Emily is very helpful and is always there if needed: )

Knowing what is in an area when you just move in isn't easy. We are pleased to hear that you were able to gain support from your locally children's centre and that they helped you to feel part of the community. Being part of groups will hopefully help you and your child develop life long relationships. Likewise I am sure that Emily will also be thrilled to know she has made such a difference with the part she has played and other parents can see that there is much that is on offer from the centres. Thank you for sharing yours story with us.
