What could be improved

My mum went in with breathing differculties and the smell was awful. The floor was filthy and the ward was overcrowded. None of the staff seemed to know what they were doing and the doctor referred to my mum as 'mrs edwards', completely wrong name. The doctors overalls looked like they have never been cleaned and she was clearly more concerned with freeing beds than treating patients. The nurse we dealt with was very rude and told us that it was only a concern if my mum 'couldnt walk' even though the callout doctor expressed major concerns. My father observed a 90+ year old woman being sick constantly into a bucket until she was gagging and the woman at the reception just sat there at the computer not doing any work even though she had full view of the situation. .

Anything else?

Overall the worse experience ive ever had with a hospital. Worth the trip to whiston.
