What I liked

Have had good experiences at Pembury - birth of child. Midwives were very friendly.

What could be improved

The level of care at times is woefully inadequate. In the follow up appointments after suffering complications during childbirth. Was seen by a doctor who left the room three times as they didn't appear to know what they were doing and did not give a satisfactory outcome and did not seem to understand or care about the symptoms I was suffering.

Worse still my newborn son was sent an appointment for a hip scan and follow up (as we have a family history)- the timing of these is crucial. The follow up appointment was delayed by three months by which time, if he had any problems, he would have been looking at surgery rather than non-surgical proceedures. Luckily, I referred myself to a different NHS trust (East Kent) and was seen at an appropraite time and my son does not have any problems.

Anything else?

I hope things improve with the new buidling! Having had experiences of Maidstone, Pembury and the Kent and Sussex Hospitals, I do wonder how an NHS trust can get it so wrong.
