"Outpatients"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital

This review concerns outpatients. I was referred to Neurology in July last year. I booked the appointment on line and attended on 6th November. I even checked that the appointment was still valid the week before and cancelled work to be there

On arrival at the hospital I was told by reception that my appointment had been cancelled and that someone had contacted me. I was also told by reception that I should wait for the hospital to contact me about a new date.

When I got home I dialled 1471 and did have an unknown call which had been made after I left.

I waited and waited for a new appointment and finally phoned the outpatients line and was told it had been recorded as a did not attend and I was discharged. After a 7 month wait for the appointment I was so upset as this is a complete lie

Not impressed is all I can say and I still have my problem with pain and burning pins and needles in the hand with now no way of resolving it.

I am really sorry to hear about this.

Please would you contact PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) on 01227 783145 or 01227 864314 and they will do their best to sort this out.

Please leave a message if you get the answerphone because they may be dealing with other patients when you call.

You can also contact them via email at ekh-tr.PALS@nhs.net or by completing an online form on our website www.ekhuft.nhs.uk - click on the relevant 'C' on the front page.
