"A&E Visit & subsequent operation on Friday..."

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

My son arrived at A&E after his GP advised us to go straight there as he needed an urgent operation.

We waited at a very busy A&E for an hour and then when we went through, we immediately were met by the surgeon and anaesthetist, and within half an hour my son was prepped for surgery.

Not only were the staff on the ball every step of the way but the way they sympathetically dealt with my son, answering his questions and reassuring us was so heartening.

Post surgery there was a bed ready for him in the Padua Ward where they were expecting my husband and I while our son was in surgery.

All staff were so pleasant and friendly and we felt very much cared for.

We feel very lucky to have had such wonderful service.

Thank you very much.

This episode must have been very stressful for you all, but I am so glad to learn that everything 'clicked into place' for you and your son and that you weren't subject to any delays.

Thank you for your kind comments about all the staff you encountered.

Please let your son know that we wish him well for a quick and full recovery.
