I would just like to congratulate Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, in the New PICU Unit. I haven't used it as a Patient, but having a look round it when I was invited as a serviceuser involver, I was very inspired by the comfortable and safe surroundings.This is just one example of how serviceusers can use influence for change.A Positive, and "thumbs up" from me.

Thanks for your feedback. People with experience of mental health problems and our staff have designed this new facility to deliver the very best quality of service and this has been an extremely important part of the project. The end result provides an optimum setting for people to recover and boasts 10 en suite bedrooms in a calming and therapeutic environment with privacy and dignity at the heart of its design. The innovative, flexible design allows the bedroom areas to be separated into male and female areas with a designated female only courtyard and lounge.

We believe that this is the future of mental health care not just in Cumbria but in the UK. It has everything that our staff need to help people recover from the most severe stages of their illness so they can return to their family and friends in the community as quickly as possible
