"joke!"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

My daughter returned to A&E today due to her having more pain and now numbness in her foot. She was taken through by the same person who saw her yesterday whilst shaking their head again. We were taken to see her x ray while they told me nothing broken again. My daughter is having to walk on the side of her foot causing pain in her knee and hip. They said it was fine for her to do this and did not examine her foot at all. No care whatsoever but since complaints put in previously a lack of care is normal. Utterly useless as usual!

I am very sorry your daughter is experiencing such discomfort and pain; I can understand how making a return trip to A&E will have been very distressing for you.

It is extremely disappointing to read that you felt the member of staff attending to your daughter on the 14th March demonstrated disrespect.

Your concerns do warrant further investigation but whilst your contact remains anonymous this is difficult to investigate.

If you are unhappy with the care or treatment that you have received you have the right to complain.

The PALS team (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) can help you through this process.

They can be contacted on

• 01228 814008 between 8.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday,

• E-mail to PALSCIC@ncuh.nhs.uk
