"appointment delays"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

After being kept waiting until very late (all the other staff had gone home by then) I was seen by a very helpful registrar who referred me for tests and asked to see me again in four months to decide upon treatment etc. I have had the tests at another hospital as the waiting list at Medway was very long. However, despite positive results I am still not receiving adequate treatment. My follow up appointment with the specialist has now been cancelled twice and is now not due until the end of May (nearly 9 months later instead of 4). In the meantime I am left in daily pain due to inadequate treatment. I understand that the department is very busy and that sometimes delays are unavoidable, but this does not help my suffering. I have been ill enough to require hospital treatment for the first time in my life this year and it has been a nightmare with Medway hospital. There seems to be a severe lack of communication within the hospital.
