"Audiology needs more funding and recognition"

For years I have had problem with my ears. Many operations as a child and adult, has led to more hearing lost. However Audiology has always amazed me with their expert help. I have had hearing aids and any problems, audiology have helped immediately.

I had surgery May 2015 for a mastoid revision. Since then I have lost more hearing, recently found out, right ear very severe, right ear moderate lost. Hearing this was upsetting. However once again, Audiology came up with a stronger hearing aid. It was amazing to be able to hear again. Sadly I cannot wear that aid as it was squeeking too loud. I had new moulds taken in Feb and am keen to get the new hearing aid on. I do voluntary work with young mothers & babies, so need it asap.

Recently my local audiology centre is fully booked. Queues every day.

I feel audiology needs more funding and recognition for the valuable work they do.
