"Huge delay in getting spinal appointment at Leeds"

I was supposed to have an appointment with the Spinal Consultant at Leeds LGI after four months (which would have been May). As I'd not heard anything I tried ringing but the person i needed to speak to was never there. I wrote to them and got a letter back apologising that they hadn't made an appointment and offering me one in July. The appointment they made for me unfortunately clashed with the day i started a new job so immediately i rang to say i couldn't make that date. I was advised the next available appointment was August... of 2008!!!! A four month follow up after fifteen months, is that really acceptable?
