"I was taken into A&E on ..."

What I liked

I was taken into A&E on 21 January 2010. The care I received from the ambulance staff who took me there and the care I received when I arrived in A&E was wonderful. I cannot praise them enough. We were in the A&E department for approximately six hours and I was being monitored the whole time I was there by firstly the nurses and then a doctor. I was sent home in the early hours but I have since had an appointment for a 24 hour ECG which I have returned today having had the monitor fitted yesterday. The person who fitted the ECG monitor yesterday was also very helpful and courteous. My wife and my daughters were with me in A&E and we all really sympathised with the nurses at some of the comments they had to endure from other patients.

What could be improved

The drinks vending machine had broken down so we weren't able to get a drink.
