"While receiving Chemotherapy for Prostate cancer I caught flu and was very unwell"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

My wife called the ambulance, the ambulance crew very quickly took me to East Surrey A&E, they called ahead with my information and an ICU registrar was waiting when we arrived. He had managed to find me a bed in ICU so I was admitted straight into ICU.

Within a very short time I was receiving IV antibiotics and other treatments.

I improved quickly over a couple of days and continued to receive excellent treatment up to my discharge.

Even though I was feeling really ill when admitted I always felt I was in the right place and everyone I dealt with was kind to me and reassured me.

Dear RayT

Thank you for sharing your story. It is lovely to hear that you felt supported and reassured during what must have been a very worrying time. Our ICU staff will be delighted to hear how happy you were with your care and I will make sure that your feedback is passed on to them.

Kind regards,

Cathy White
