I have spend recently 6 days in the hospital and the care I received was fenomenal. All the staff was extremely respectful, caring and helpful. On the beggining of their shift they would come to each patient and introduce themselves. They would go beyond any expectations to ensure all patients were well looked after and that all our needs were meet. The patient with dementia had 1 to 1 care 24 hours a day and I was really admiring an amassing patience and respect that off all the staff caring for her.
The food menu was catering for every desire. I do not think that I ever saw such an extensive menu in any restaurant. Food was not the most flavoursome but it is what I would expect in the hospital- slightly blad, diet food without much fat or spices.
The bedding was changed every day and patients were provided with fresh towels and nighties if needed. The ward was clean.
I would like to point out that even prior my surgery, when I was attending tests and appointments in the hospital, I found all the staff and the service they provided absolutely fantastic! Even now after I returned home I received a phone call to check if I was all righ.
I had a few surgeries in the past and I stayed in different hospitals in greater Manchester and abroad (Miami), but I have never experienced such a high level of care.
Thank you very much to all the staff of St Mary's hospital in Manchester! You all are the stars! You really make the difference to the way people recover and feel while they are sick and unwell!
