"Elmleigh gives ace care"

After attempting to end my own life I spent three weeks in the hospital on the blue bay. At first I was petrified of being admitted to a psychiatric unit, but when I arrived I was greeted by patients mixing and conversing over cups of tea and coffee in the kitchen area and a warm and friendly support worker who showed me to my room and around the ward ensuring I was okay and laying any fears I had to rest. Over the course of the three weeks my confidence to attend group therapies and leave my room increased, slowly bringing me back to my old self, where I felt I was able to get myself back to work (I work in the NHS myself with direct patient care) and back into the community. While I was in Elmleigh I had a spout of people giving me bad news from the outside world, it literally felt like my whole entire world was crashing down around me and I was powerless to do anything about it, but through the help of the staff at Elmleigh, I have managed to get myself back together and things are slowly starting to fall back into place for me. Thank you to everyone who puts in all the hard work here, from admin and cleaning staff to support workers occupational therapists, nurses and the doctors and probably countless people who work behind the scenes that I didn't even know existed at the hospital.

Response from Elmleigh

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your valuable feedback about the care that you received at Emleigh.

It is really important to receive feedback such as yours which has been shared with the teams concerned.

I know your feedback will be a rewarding morale boost for the staff.

As you say our staff work hard to care for their patients and your recognition of this is very much appreciated.

My we all wish you a continued road to recovery.

Kind regards
