My daughter was rushed in by ambulance due to a severe asthma attack, she was taken straight to the resuscitation ward and up until then the care was excellent.
She was then, over the next couple of days moved through the AMU dept and is now in AMU short stay.
As she is 16 she is classed as an adult. She needs to be seen by respiratory care who basically are refusing to see her because she's not an adult. So we've been told respiratory nurses will come to see her but only after they have finished their clinic as she's not their priority either!
We've now been sitting in the hospital for three days waiting for some sort of Careplan to be drawn up by people who seem very reluctant to even see her! !
The doctors are invisible and when I asked the nurse If I could speak to a doctor, the nurse said that I'd left it too late as they had now gone to which I explained but all day you have been telling me respiratory nurses will be coming to see her and now the doctors have gone and no nurses came to see her either so we're here for another night! As shes on a short stay ward there is no TV or anything. Really disappointed and frustrated. 😤😪
