"We are so lucky to have the NHS"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I am 77 and whilst dressing in the morning lost my footing and measured my length on the floor with something of a crash. I endured for the day but come 9 p. m. found the right side of my body, on which I fell, was locked and I coldn't move. My daughter called 999, the paramedics were here promptly and their conduct and care beyond praise. Once at East Surrey the long night took time to inch but over the hours a full examination was made, blood tests, x-rays and the appropriate medication prescribed. Necessarily waiting times twixt and tween on the trolley but no real complaints and I can only say we are so lucky to have the NHS.
