"Wonderful kind caring staff"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Emergency Medicine NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a relative),

My husband collapsed unconscious. He came round pretty quickly. He didn't want an ambulance. He didn't want to go to hospital. We got him to NHS 24 who admitted him to A&E at Dr Grays Hospital where the staff treated him with such kindness and explained everything to us step by step. Thank you to you all for being so helpful from NHS 24 to A&E and Ward 6.

Dear relative

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback on Patient Opinion. Staff really do appreciate hearing that they have done a good job. Being kind and explaining what is happening are important aspects of the total package of care we deliver, so when you mention this it reinforces to staff that these are the things that matter to patients.

I hope that your husband is recovering well. Other people reading this, who might similarly be reluctant to go to hospital, may well have a change of heart because of this post and feel more confident about getting excellent care at the time it is needed.

I will make sure that your comments are passed on to the Emergency Department and to Ward 6.

Kindest regards and thank you again,
