"Treatment ...before and after"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

This was the third time I had to attend day surgery for a pre-operative assessment on 26/02/2016.

All the staff were very friendly and polite, as per usual, and very professional in their assessments of me.

I then attended for day surgery on 4/03/2016 for treatment for my ankle. Again the whole staff were first class in their attitude, politeness and friendliness.

The difference I noticed from my previous two visits were being ushered into a 'waiting' room that had very uncomfortable chairs to sit on, and really terrible 'music' being played rather loudly from a radio....But apart from that the whole visit was a pleasant experience, and I would like to thank all the staff for the way they treated me....it was a pleasure.

Thank you, Ray, for providing feedback about your experiences of the Day Surgery Unit at Russells Hall Hospital. It is wonderful to hear that you were pleased with the care and treatment you received from our staff during your visits. We have passed your kind words onto the team.

We have recently made some improvements to our day surgery waiting area and so it is disappointing to hear that you found this area uncomfortable. The unit has a variety of chairs (for example, soft and firm, high and low) to help suit the preferences of the wide variety of patients but can only apologise if you found the chair you sat on uncomfortable.

We are sorry if you found the radio too loud. We have passed your comments onto the manager for this area and to our patient experience lead who will look into the comments you’ve raised.
