"Heart Attack Aftercare"

About: Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Having a heart attack was scary. However I received fantastic care by everyone at Ashford & St Peters from the ambulance crew through the catch lab team, the ward staff and the rehab nurses.

'On the table' within two hours of my heart attack for my stent and into Birch Ward within three for a good rest, continuously monitored by attentive pleasant and kind staff I didn't lift a finger and nothing was too much trouble. I was back home in 3 days with a sick note and began my convalescence until the commencement of my rehab sessions with the informative nurses in the gym at Ashford for my 12 sessions of cardio exercise over 6 weeks. The rehab helped me focus on well being and exercise for my heart and for my body generally and made me think about ensuring I maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle going forward.

I would like to thank everyone who was party to my care as I realise it all worked so fluidly and was so well organised that it has made a difference to my outcome that could have been a lot worse. I felt assured and cared for and safe in the hands of all those I came into contact with and will be for ever grateful.
