"Paramedic was lovely"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I wanted to thank the paramedic who treated me at the bingo club in Bristol after I cut my leg on some metal on a chair. The paramedic, Kevin Gifford, was fantastic. He said that although the cut was quite bad he would treat it at the bingo hall rather than take me to the A&E department as it was Saturday night and I would have a long wait. He explained how he would treat the cut and then let me know what he was doing at each stage so I always knew what was happening even though I could not actually see what he was doing. He cleaned it all up, put butterfly t strips to hold the wound together then clean padding and a bandage. The first aid lady at the the bingo club at the paramedic, they were both really lovely to me.
