"Treatment of my wife when she underwent..."

About: Wexham Park Hospital

In March 2015 my wife went to a mobile breast unit in Slough and as a result was sent to Wexham Park Hospital for further investigation. Further scans revealed that she had breast cancer and as a result she underwent surgery to remove two cancerous lumps. These operations were carried out at Heatherwood Hospital. She then underwent Chemotherapy at the The Parapet, King Edward's Hospital. During this course of treatment she went to Eden Ward, Wexham Park

Hospital on a weekly basis for blood to be taken and her pic line to be cleaned. On finishing her chemotherapy she then attended Mount Vernon Hospital where she had a course of Radiotherapy.. The total time of her treatment for cancer took in the region of ten months.

The purpose of this letter is to pass on our admiration and heartfelt thanks to all those people involved in her treatment. Every single person she encountered during her treatment was absolutely incredible. Their professionalism and compassion was second to none. It did not matter whether that person was a consultant, a nurse, an administrator, or a porter, they all showed that caring empathy for others that is so important for the recovery of the patient. We strongly felt that allocating a breast care nurse to each patient gave considerable reassurance to the patient. My wife did not need to contact her breast care nurse, except for one piece of advise, but the knowledge that someone was available twenty four hours a day, was very reassuring

It gives me great pleasure to be able to write this review, and to be able to say that she is recovering well as a result of the excellent care that she received

Dear Keith

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on your experience of your wife's treatment for breast cancer.

I'm pleased to hear that your experience was a positive one and the professionalism and compassion of the staff was second to none.

We are very lucky to have a great team who try and treat patients as though it were their own family in front of them.

The team will be delighted to read your comments, and feedback like yours makes it all worthwhile.

I wish you both all the best

Kind Regards

Claire Marshall
